A wonderfully warm and intimate testimony from Melissa regarding her “conversion” from Calvinism to Arminianism to Christian Universalism. Unlike my own more slow, theologically oriented “conversion” – Melissa shares her deep existential crisis, bringing her to the brink of suicide.
Of special interest is how encountering the testimonies of those who have had “near death” experiences played a confirming role in this transition – which they have had for me as well – not as authoritative “proofs” of Truth, but as testimonies that should not be simply ignored, and which resonate with our own God-given intuitions about the Goodness and Love of God experienced in almost ineffable ways by those who have “returned” from death and given us a glimpse of what lies “beyond the veil”.
